Why do we fall?

Wreck

One of my favorite movie scenes of all time was from the movie Batman Begins, the scene is of Bruce Wayne when he was a kid, he falls into a well and his father carries him into the Wayne Mansion saying to him,

“Why is that we fall? ….. So we can learn to pick ourselves up again.”

A little more then a year ago a friend and I were involved in a major car accident, we lost everything, except the most valuable thing, our lives. I lost everything, my car, my laptop, my job, my education.(EVERYTHING, at least for a college student) I had internal bleeding and minor trauma, my friend was airlifted to the hospital as he had neck fractures and broken bone injuries.

Were we on drugs? NO. Where we drunk? NO. Where we street racing? NO.

I fell asleep.

I fell asleep and in those few moments changed both our life’s forever.

I truly appreciate what life brings. It’s not that I didn’t appreciate life before, it’s that now I FEEL the importance of it, now I understand and know what it means to have your life flash before your eyes. To ask yourself, what have I done? What am I doing? What WILL I do? Simple questions. Simple answers. The only thing we can do, pick ourselves up.

My friend’s name is Chris, and he is one the best friend anyone could ever have. I would like to thank his family for all the their support and care. My family and friends as well, I love you guys. =)

I would also like to say how much I miss my ex-coworkers in Las Cruces, NM they were the GREATEST! Janet you were the best supervisor a student could ask for, understanding, resourceful, and result driven. John, good man, thanks for all the work tips John. Michael Rickenbaker I know you don’t like it much in the office but I HAD to call you Mr. Rickenbacker. I learned a lot, overall I had plenty of fun working with all you guys and I truly miss you guys, Greg, Nicole, Trish, Nivia, Sheila, Sam, Joe, and Orasa!

Happy holidays guys!
